*RARE* Vintage Antique French Oak Platform Grocer's Scale in Kilos
Fairly rare, this French oak grocer's platform scale was recently imported from France and features a scale done in only the metric system. Made entirely from oak and brass, this barrel or grocer's scale is setup like a physicians, with a main platform, long neck, with the three sliding scales nested at the top. There is a two-prong key on a chain that fits into the back of the largest scale to adjust and help calibrate the scale. There used to be a plaque affixed beneath scales but it has since been lost.
This piece was a late 19th - early 20th century production. It measures 45" tall, 20" wide, and 23" deep. It weighs a little over 35 lbs. It is in great condition and it does take weight that registers on the scales. It has not been calibrated. Aside from the obvious cosmetic wear, this piece shows no other signs of wear from age or use.
