Vintage Antique Ideal Postal Scale

Description

This is a working vintage Ideal Postal Scale as shown in photo.  Dimensions 7 x 7 x 4 inches.  The 3 cents per ounce rate for letters was in effect 11/2/1917 to 7/1/1919 and 7/6/1932 to 8/1/1958.  From the design, I suspect that this scale dates from the earlier period.
Consider it primarily as an antique / collectible item although it does function. Scale goes from 0 to 2 lbs, with smallest scale markings on the half-ounce. There's an adjustment wheel under the spring to set the zero point. I put 10 quarters on the pan, which should be 2 oz., and it read about 2.2 oz. I expect the spring constant has weakened a bit over the decades.
