Original 1950s reissue theater poster on Linen Backing of 1941 movie, sent to film cinemas for marketing purposes in Denmark. Nicely backed in VERY GOOD+ condition. Rare Early War Years Western Feature by Director, RAOUL WALSH. Natural original folds, with few pin holes on linen border, which is about an inch to two outside the actual paper edge. Artist signed. Beautiful poster with Bright Colors, natural wear. Some minor paper scraping. See photos. GREAT Image of Classic Actor, ERROL FLYNN.

Famous All-American Sports Legend, Jim Thorpe, who was an extra, had an off-camera fight with Errol Flynn. With one punch Thorpe knocked out Flynn, who was in his Custer uniform. Louis Zamperini, Olympic athlete and subject of "Unbroken" (2014), was an extra in this film just before being drafted into the United States Armed Forces during World War II. Because of new union laws, producers were forced to use regular screen extras without stunt experience. In the opening days of shooting 80 were injured and three were killed. The filming of the "Last Stand" sequence from this movie involved some 200 horsemen charging around in pretend battle and was so dangerous that one day during filming Anthony Quinn, who played Crazy Horse, arranged as a gag for a hearse to show up at the filming location. Experienced Stuntman Jack Budlong died after falling from his horse onto his sword. According to "The Guinness Book of Movie Facts and Feats", three men were killed during the cavalry charge scene. Bill Mead's horse tripped while riding alongside Errol Flynn. As he was going down, the stuntman had the presence of mind to throw his sword forward to avoid it, but bad luck caused the hilt to get stuck in the ground and Mead fell on it, impaling himself. Untrained rider George Murphy was killed when he fell from his horse while drunk. Custer's summons to Washington had little to do with fake gold in the Black Hills. Custer was called to testify about monopolies at army trading posts. The Secretary of War had been selling these monopolies to the highest bidder who raised the prices of goods sold to soldiers. Custer's testimony led the impeachment of the Secretary of War and cast suspicions on President Grant's son who he claimed was involved in the trading post ring. Grant removed Custer from command right before a roundup of renegade Sioux warriors was to commence. Intense pressure from the press pushed Grant to reconsider and Custer was put back in command just in time for Little Big Horn.
PLOT SUMMARY -
A highly fictionalized account of the life of George Armstrong Custer from his arrival at West Point in 1857 to his death at the battle of the Little Big Horn in 1876.
