Description:
Presented for your consideration is this neat vintage physician's sale. The scale is all metal except for the overlay on the platform which is paper. The paper overlay has a striped design. The base of the scale is painted white with black and silver coloration on the measure and a grey color on the bottom of the base. The weight measure has numbers 0 to 50 along the top and numbers 0 to 300 on the bottom. The weights on the measure easily slide back and forth. The holder that connects the measure to the top of the scale is marked with "Detecto" in black lettering. The measure is also marked with "Detecto" in four areas (two on the back and two on the front). The back side is also marked with "Detecto Scales Inc. Brooklyn, NY. U.S.A." On the stem of the scale is another measure that is numbered to 30. There is a cover over the top part of this measure which easily moves. All movable parts move with ease and the scale works, though we are unsure as to its accuracy. Guaranteed to be old. Dates to the 1950s-60s. This neat physician's scale would make a great addition to any medical memorabilia or industrial themed collection!
The paper overlay on the foot platform is peeling off at the corners. Light oxidation is on the stem measure. Typical wear from age and use. No dents, dings or breaks. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Sold AS FOUND. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
Measures 21" deep at the deepest point, 10 5/8" wide at the foot platform, 16 1/4" wide at the weight measure and 58 1/4" tall.
