    Description

Original Belgian Release Movie Poster On Back Of Map -
    It Ain't Hay (1943)
    ,
Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Cecil Kellaway, Grace McDonald, Eugene Pallette, Shemp Howard, Patsy O'Connor, Damon Runyan, Erle C, Kenton, Race Horses, Saratoga
Next up is this seldom seen original Belgian movie poster from the original release of Erle Kenton's comedy,
    It Ain't Hay
. In this film adapted from Damon Runyan's
    Princess O'Hara
(previously filmed in 1935),  Abbott and Costello play NYC cab drivers who accidentally kill a hack horse and inadvertently replace it with a missing racehorse. This poster is from the film's first release in Belgium soon after the end of the war in Europe. It probably dates to late 1945 or early 1946 since it bears the Universal Pictures logo (which disappeared in mid 1946) and is printed on the reverse of a 1943 ordnance map because of post-war paper shortages. It is in very strong condition for its age and rarely comes up for sale or auction.
