    CAST IRON antique COUNTER SCALE w C H CRANE weights LARGE PAN restored PAINT
    One countertop balance with 4 cast iron weights. Looks like a out of the ordinary cast iron design for a countertop scale. Has handles on the business side to move around. Also on the shopkeeper side are the 4 CRANE weights which sit upon an area designed for 4 weights at least. Except for the large goods pan, the things has been repainted at some time. Guessing about 1900. No makers marks seen on scale yet. Weights have C H CRANE variation, Wolverhampton. They are 2 and 1 pound, 8 and 4 ounce. Actually makes a pretty nice display. No idea where scale was made.
    condition is pretty nice overall, considerations to the repaint. It also appears that the weights were married to the scale and are not the original set. Pan has aged tarnish and seems to fit well, the rig is close to level at rest and 4 pennies in gods pan balances it.
    size is overall about 13 5/16 x 8 3/8 inches for footprint, pans are 7 1/8 x 5 inch for weight and 14 1/4 x 9 7/8 x 2 inch deep for goods.
