Brass 1900s antique Fairbanks doctor's scale measuring plate only as in museum

Amazing find if you are a collector of rare Fairbanks scales or if you are looking for a very special gift for someone who collects Fairbanks items. This auction is for the Fairbanks scale measuring plate only (the complete scale is shown for example only). In the Fairbanks company's own antique Fairbanks scales exhibition, this solid brass measuring plate is featured on the line scale #69 piece in their museum in Kansas City. Has curving, raised lettering and a diamond pattern with an Art Deco flair to the scroll. Shows up on 1890s and later Fairbank's doctor's scales with matching brass components. One of the Fairbanks models this plate appeared on was Fairbanks No. 11 1/2 patented in 1895, the model shown in our pictures (complete scale is not included in this auction).
You'll see many plain wooden platforms on early scales, but you'll rarely ever see one with such an attractive and intricate solid brass platform like this. Could have been on a high-end doctor's scale for patients, so it's a great piece if you are medical or pharmaceutical items collector. Measures 23 inches by 17 inches by 1 1/4 inches. Weighs about 32 pounds. Pictures offer many other relevant details. We have opted to leave the finish as found, with its original patina. Being solid brass, it could polish up very nicely if you prefer a polished look.
