THIS ITEM:
This antique hanging steelyard style balance scale is in very good condition. Often described as a fur traders or buffalo hide scale, it has weight markings for poundage in 15 pound increments from 30 to 135 pounds. It displays nicely.
This is a large scale measuring 22 inches long and weighing 4 pounds 10 ounces. The hanging weight is about 3 inches long.
There is a bold star logo on the head end.  Three hooks: one for hanging the scale from a support and two for hides or fur. Company is unknown to me.

Very Good. Pitting present, mostly on the bar making the numbers hard to read.  Good overal patina.
