    Description

    Antique Cast Iron Scale Weights General Store Scale G B Morvan Birmingham ***  Nice small counter size antique cast iron general store balance scale with scale weights.  The cast iron balance scale shows original red paint and brass tray pan. We have not attempted to clean this piece, and it seems to have its original patina.  The sides read G. B. Morvan Birmingham, and the base, between the 2 pedestals, appears to read:  TO WEIGH 7 LBS GLASS II.   Set includes 5 cast iron weights totalling 3 pounds, 14 oz. (2 lbs., 1 lb., 8 oz., 4 oz., and 2 oz. (see pics).  Brass scoop / tray  measures 12.-3/8" long, 8-1/4" wide, and 2-1/2" tall.  The  cast iron scale base measures 13" wide, 12-1/2" deep,  and 7-1.2" tall with tray.  With all of the listed pieces (weights, tray, and scale), the total weight is about 12 lbs., 10 oz.   In good antique condition with  wear consistent with its age.  Please examine all photos closely, as they are part of the description.  Thank you for shopping with us!
