ANTIQUE 1900s FRENCH IRON & BRASS Kitchen Balance Scale; Force 5kg; with weights. The design is industrial or turn-of-the-20th century. Force 5 kg is stamped on the base. Corners feature fleur de lys design. Plates are brass. Larger weights have rings. Smaller weights have knob handle. Please see photos for details.  There is age patina all over this item. A nice addition to a country-style kitchen or dining room decor. The scale works and is fairly well calibrated.
The measurements of this scale and brass plates are as follows:
Scale: 17 1/2" long by 7 1/4" wide; Brass plates are 7 1/4" diameter.
There are a total of 12 weights of varying weights: 2 @ 5 hectog or 1 kg, 2 @ 2 hectog; 2 @ 1 hectog & 1 @ 1/2 hectog. There are also 5 smaller weights of 200 grams, 100 grams, 50 grams and 20 grams in a wooden display box. Note: the 200 gram weight is stuck i the wooden box. Could be accumulated dust or ? I will not be forcing it out so as to avoid breaking the bbox.
This scale and iron weight 15 pounds. USP Ground cost will depend on destination.
The scale and weights have not been cleaned in order to preserve patina. there may be dust and rust here and there. This scale belonged to my French grandmother. It was a favorite of my family and my mother displayed it in her kitchen and even used it for baking measurements when using French recipes. It needs a new, appreciative home.

Shipping will be handled by a commercial packing company to be sure it is carefully boxed and shipped. We will be using UPS Ground. Insurance has not been calculated into shipping cost.
