    For your consideration is a very decorative hanging balance beam scale
    Made of cast iron with embellished finial in Victorian taste
    It retains the original 3 hooks and counterweight
    A trade or mercantile scale - possibly butcher's for meat or poultry, or used in the farm to measure cotton, tobacco or else
    An early measuring tool dating back to the 19th c., American
    All original
