Henry Troemner was known primarily for making brass scales and weights but he did make a few other things such as measurers.
Henry Troemner (1809-1873) was born in Germany and came to the US about 1832.   In 1840 he went into business with a partner, F. Meyer, makings scales and weights. Around 1844, he went into business for himself and not long after, he received a contract to make bullion scales and weights for the Mints, Customs Houses, and Repositories across the United States.  Henry Troemner was by far the most prolific of balance manufacturers in the U.S., making scales and balances for almost every conceivable use.   The company is still in business today, supplying weights, laboratory equipment and calibration services.
