    Description

    Purging My Crowded "War Room"
    1863 CIVIL WAR ERA
    General John C. Fremont
    Cartouche
Likely From an Ambrotype by (Matthew)Brady
    DID YOU KNOW?...
    John C. Fremont was the
    FIRST EVER
    Republican Nominee for the
    UNITED STATES PRESIDENCY!
This Cartouche of General John C. Fremont is one of numerous Civil War Photos and Documents that I have decided to offer from my "War Room", a spare bedroom where I display my collection and view videos of the Civil War Era.
It is likely from a Matthew Brady Ambrotype....
I have numerous similar photos and cartouches marked as from Matthew Brady. I have little doubt that this is also Brady. Perhaps omitted because this one predates the others by two years.
    YOUR EBAY EMAILS ARE WELCOME...
Since my expertise is mainly in rare coins and currency, I am constantly seeking out knowledge of anything related to the Civil War. I know that the Brady Connection is important, but wish to learn more.
    DESCRIPTION...
The photo is 8-1/4" x 11". The paper and texture thereof is similar to the many CDV's I own. Please note the evidence of mildew, another reason to get this into more knowledgeable hands...
Starting bid is reasonable. It's worth that to me to keep it..
    Good Luck!
